Fire Breaks Out at Walt Disney World's EPCOT, No Injuries Reported

A fire erupted near the French Pavilion at Walt Disney World's EPCOT park in Florida on Saturday evening, March 22, 2025, sending plumes of black smoke into the sky. The blaze, which occurred in a backstage area, was quickly extinguished, and no injuries were reported, according to a Disney official.

The fire originated in a walk-in cooler at the French Pavilion, part of EPCOT's World Showcase. While the incident prompted evacuations from the nearby Remy's Ratatouille Adventure ride, no buildings were damaged. The French Pavilion reopened to guests shortly after the fire was contained, though the ride remained closed for the rest of the evening.

The incident took place during a busy period for the park, coinciding with both Spring Break and EPCOT's International Flower & Garden Festival. Videos of the smoke circulating on social media captured the attention of visitors and online audiences alike.

Disney officials confirmed the fire was under control by 7:20 p.m. local time, and normal operations resumed ahead of the park's 9 p.m. closure. The Orange County Sheriff's Office has not yet provided additional details on the incident.

This marks another unexpected event at the popular theme park, which continues to draw large crowds despite occasional disruptions.
